Frank Gore remains one of the most consistent and durable running backs in the league which is critical to the Niners success in the upcoming season. Gore’s toughness and durability allows Head Coach Jim Harbaugh to manage the QB position effectively. Alex Smith was consistent and at times brilliant last season earning the respect of his teammates. He should feel even more comfortable this season after experiencing some success. The defense in the Bay area may be the best in the league. They have talent and depth throughout the defense which makes them a unique unit. Start with DT Justin Smith who seemingly gets better with age and throw in an All-Pro LB in Patrick Willis and you’ve got the nucleus of another great year on the defensive side of the ball. Staying healthy may be the only obstacle to the Niners reaching the Super Bowl.
