Pete Carroll’s team continues to seek its identity in 2012. The acquisition of QB Matt Flynn thru free agency was intended to solve the QB situation which has been unsettled for years. Whether Flynn can perform over the long season is yet to be determined. Selecting Wisconsin’s Russell Wilson in the third round of the draft should provide depth in the future. Mayshawn Lynch continues to excite and ignite the offense. In space, he is as good as anyone in the league. He will be expected to carry the load as Flynn develops. At WR, Golden Tate and Sydney Rice bring experience but need to begin living up to their billings. Russell Okung’s continued improvement is essential for the OL to give Lynch room to run and Flynn time to throw. On defense, CB’s Marcus Trufant and Richard Sherman are solid and capable of locking down opposing WR’s one on one. If the DL gets some pressure, look for these two to have big years.
